Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
