Recent Particulars Come to Light Regarding the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light regarding the tragic demises of renowned director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

A source indicates referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

After gaining access to the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant also disputed several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Additionally pushed back against published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to accounts of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
