Iran is ready to resume atomic discussions with the United States on condition that it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi declared only diplomacy produced results, and disclosed fresh requests had been made by intermediaries to resume negotiations with the American leadership. He said Iran had zero unreported enrichment locations, and Iran had not yet reached a point to permit the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Walking a Difficult Course

Araghchi is walking a complex course since Iran wishes not to appear to be operating from a situation of vulnerability, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen stronger militarily and mentally from the Israeli-US attack on its atomic facilities in June.

Afterward, Western states used their right to reimpose international penalties, but Iran asserts they have not had a substantial consequence.

Ideal Resolution Suggested

Iranian officials stated they felt they had attained a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in previous talks, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could process nuclear material.
